The 5th's disease saga continues!

Today I had my first perinatologist appointment regarding the 5th's disease exposure.
He was really nice and very informative. The tech did an ultrasound to check a bunch of different things (it's still a girl...had to double check) and then the doctor came in.
He also did a scan and checked the blood flow in her brain and in her heart, they will be checking me every week for the next 8 weeks to make sure the speed of the blood in her brain and heart stay constant to make certain that she does not develop anemia or any heart defects because of the 5th's disease. The doctor is very confident that everything will turn out fine, and he was very reassuring. The one thing I"m not looking forward to is schlepping the 30 minutes to the big hospital every week for the tests, but at least I get to see my baby so that makes up for it. I will keep you all posted on any further developments. Just keep praying that our little girl stays strong and everything stays well.
