Bella had her check up today at 7 weeks and she is now a whopping 7lbs 10oz...a little bigger than 2 of her older brothers were at birth...so still tiny, but 2lbs heavier than she was 7 weeks ago. She has gotten much longer, she is now 21 inches...so tall and slim..I can deal with that. She was very alert during her check up and gave her doctor a big smile....she's already a flirt! She's growing great, and got 2 shots and some drops today so she stays nice and healthy.
Isabella Maria was Baptized into the catholic church on Sunday December 13th. The day started out with a bang....literally since it was so darn icy outside....Davide almost took a spill and then I almost did too, my dad didn't realize that it was icy and fell right on his butt in their driveway....I hate the winter. The weather was not supposed to be so cold in the morning, but once again the forecasters were wrong and there was black ice everywhere. The Godfather was coming from south Jersey and it took them over 3 hours to get there since there was so many detours and accidents. My uncle had to turn back and it took them 4 hours....it was pretty scary. The ceremony was beautiful and Isabella was a pure angel. Her Godmother, my best friend held her the whole time and my little girl made me proud. The reception was very nice, we had 12 kids running around and they had a blast...overall it was a wonderful day, and thankfully the ice turned to rain for everyone's ride home.
Time really does fly! Isabella turned 6 weeks old yesterday, which means we've reached breastfeeding milestone #1. Next up, 3 months. It's been going great, she's EBFing all the time, and getting an occasional bottle of pumped milk so I'm not chained down to her. She's been giving us little smiles the past week or so, but not consistent yet, and she's sleeping in 3 to 4 hour stretches at night when swaddled. She's still such a good baby, I really hope that does not change. She goes in for her check up on the 16th so we'll see how big she's gotten, I think she's close to 8lbs. She's been chugging down that boob milk like a pro! Her baptism is on Sunday, so I will be sharing many more pictures I'm sure.
Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. Today Isabella celebrated her first Thanksgiving, courtesy of turkey flavored breast milk! LOL and her 1 month birthday! Can't believe she's a month old already. She's been such a wonderful addition to our family and I can't picture our lives without her. Today we spent the day at Grandpa and Nana's house, and she slept most of the time. Yesterday she met Papa (my dad) for the very first time, since he is visiting from Italy, and she's been really sweet to everyone, cause that's her style! She's started dribbling and blowing bubbles already and she's been rolling from her side to her back and back to side...this kid is in a hurry!
My Little pumpkin is a little bigger! We went for her 3 week pediatrician appointment today, and were very pleased that the Isabella is now 6lbs. 4oz, that's a little over 1lbs gained over the past 18 days. She's also an inch and a half longer, at 19 inches. She has outgrown all her preemie clothes and is now in newborn, even though she still swims in some of those. She also got her first shot, since we decided to delay the Hepatitis B that they now give at birth, cause she was just soo small. She cried very little and was staring at the Doctor the whole time! Such a big difference from her screaming brothers. She goes back next month for her next check up and next round of poking.
Yesterday Isabella turned 3 weeks old...and I tried and tried to get a good picture! (I take one at 1,2,3,4 weeks, 1 month etc..for the first year) well, little girl was not very cooperative...so I got a bunch of funny face ones instead.
I'll try again today, maybe I'll have better luck!
Cannot believe my little Bella is a week old already. She's still tiny as can be ( on Friday she was 5lbs. 2oz) but has been nursing great and should regain the weight soon enough. She's still in preemie clothes and a few newborn outfits fit. The boys are adjusting well and are loving her to pieces. Nights are still rough cause she likes to cluster feed, but overall she's a great baby. We're just sooo happy she's here and healthy.
Today we came home with our baby Isabella. So far the transition has gone OK. Mom was over to help me make lunch and dinner and the boys are a little smothering of their little sister so I'm constantly on the lookout to make sure she's safe. She's adjusting well to the noise level of the house, even though she seems to get distracted while nursing...gonna have to work on that. By dinner time yesterday I regained function of my right leg, the anesthesiologist and neurologist both concluded that it was an excess pooling of anesthetic in my leg that caused the problem and it just took a while to wear off. My MRI came out normal Thank God. Today I would of been 40 weeks, so I figured I'd just share my typical week by week pic with you guys.
