Fanfiction Review: Holding out for you!

Thanks to the babycenter fanfiction thread I started reading different types of stories...well not that different, just with a common theme.

Today I just finished Holding Out for You: After her divorce, Bella starts a new life with her son. She soon meets a handsome doctor, who is dealing with his own loss and is struggling to raise his two kids. It's a story of finding strength during adversity and learning to love again

OMG, so well written and emotional (ok that might also be cause AF decided to make a comeback after almost exactly 1 year), totally loved it, it's 50 chapters but I read it in less than 2 days...soo worth it. It's complete, so you can enjoy it without waiting.

I'm also reading:
A Rough Start : Overnight irresponsible Edward goes from bachelor to father of a 5 yr old. Meanwhile responsible, prepared Bella begins her first job as Kindergarten teacher at Forks Elementary. When irresponsible meets the epitome of responsible, sparks will fly!

I must admit, the beginning of this was soo soo sad that I didn't think I could make it through it, but I got into it, and now I love it, it's not complete, but it's being updated regulatly.

I'm also back to reading REAL BOOKS!
right now I'm reading The Vampire Diaries: Awakening (cause I love the TV show)
and I just started Committed, by Elizabeth Gilbert (the sequel to Eat, Pray, Love)

The real books might take a while, because I can't read while nursing, so that's when I do the fanfiction stuff, but I will review as soon as I'm done with either of these.

Fanfiction Thursday!

It is Thursday right? with the kids home I'm losing track of time! I'll be happier when Monday is here and we're back to some sort of routine.
While nursing at my computer I've been reading some pretty good stories this week.
The first one I want to discuss is
Bella Swan: Kidnapper
This story is hysterical, borderline unrealistic....ok pretty much unrealistic, but funny, and sweet and just very entertaining. The biggest bonus: it's Complete....so if you need a quick, good read, this is the thing for you! (22 chapters and epilogue)

Another story that I finished a few days ago is A Moment Too Late, this one is based on Twilight (still vampires) and it picks up when Bella was in the alley in Port Angeles, but Edward is too late and she gets attacked....it's a great story, very well written, a little dark, but overall a good read.

Fan Fiction: What I'm Reading

Right now I'm in the middle of a bunch of stories...
unfortunately so many of the ones I was waiting for stopped updating or got pulled.
The Office for example...I was lucky enough to catch the last chapter and had to read the epilogue on the authors website...
Pieces, God only knows what happened to etc etc.....I think I'm going to make an effort to only read completed stories so I don't end up disappointed.

The good ones I just finished within the past few weeks
The Teenage Angst Brigade: not for everyone, twisted plot, a little dumb if you ask me, but it kept me reading, so it can't be that bad right (complete)
Fourteen: from the author of Pieces (which she promises to get back to writing now that this one is done)...cute story...not typical...Bella is a size 14 and gets verbally abused...etc....liked it.

still reading Answering Bell: she updates regularly thank the lord. He dropped out of medical school, she divorced Jacob....good story

I have mentioned in the past that I'm reading Clipped Wings and Inked Armor, and I love love love this story....
well I found a copycat....and I know it's morally wrong for her to rip off someone elses fanfic....but this story is different even though some of the similarities make you scratch your head, but I still like it...it's called Never Again

ok this is enough to keep you all busy for a while right??
Nursing in front of my laptop has come in very handy as an excuse to read fanfic, ...LOL DH can't even complain...ha ha

Fan Fiction Review: Life, Liberty & the Persuit!

I know it's been a while, I've been following a whole bunch of fanfics that are not complete yet, and some that are just soo smut filled and have such dumb story lines that I'm not even going to mention (unless you ask nicely) LOL.
but this one caught my attention. It took me 2 days to read, and I want more...I really hope she writes the sequel.
This is from the same author that wrote Darkest Before Dawn (the completed version of Midnight Sun, which she started writing before Stephanie Meyers version was released) very well written, and sticks closely to the book.

Life, Liberty & The Persuit, awesome story, Bella & Edward meet on a cruise when she falls in the pool, and it goes on from there....very sweet, nicely written, no smut, just a sweet story.

Fan Fiction Friday

Ok so I've been reading a lot of fan fiction lately. My 4 hours alone each day have been spent 50/50 on house stuff and reading....cause I have no energy left in me, and some of these stories are very juicy...and most of them are still in progress, which is why I'm reading so many, one I get to the current chapter, waiting a week for updates is insane, so I move on to the next....

Alphabet Weekends (the ever popular fan fic, with the steamy game that goes to far) is almost done, I think they only have a few letters to go, but she's been slacking on updates....ahhhh

Pieces: pretty messed up from their pasts....but I'm loving this story of Dr. Masen....just awesome

Such a simple fool: COMPLETED story....oh man, I loved this one. She's a bartender, he's an aspiring musician.....and then all hell breaks loose.....awesome!

Mr. Horrible: this one has me laughing....like literally cracking up. He's a rich kid...she's a mess and they're soo great together....and oh yeah can't forget Birkin...........a must read...she's almost done with it, so it's exciting.

The Office: Beautiful Bastard vs. Smart Sexy secretary.....almost complete, and oh so hot!

Clipped Wings and Inked Armor: not your typical story....both characters have deep dark pasts...find comfort in each other, he's hiding behind tattoos and piercings, she's addicted to prescription meds....what can I say.......great story!

I hate you, kiss me...: LOL the title says it all. Two meet at a bar, have a one night stand....then he ends up working at her firm......it gets ugly, then it gets kinky...then the drama kicks in...gotta love it.

Buried Among the Begonias: ok serious warning... he's got multiple personalities, and sometimes I think she does too. Lots of violence and very gruesome, not for the faint of heart.

Then of course, I'm reading the famous Fan Fiction Trilogy.
Part 3 just started, she's only done 3 chapters so far, but to prepare, if your interested in this kind of thing: he's a dominant, she's a submissive and they play dirty A LOT.

Fan Fiction Review: Abbracciare Il Cantante

Ok, so I have a perinatalogist appointment later this afternoon, so I will be writing about that when I get back, but before that, I have to share this amazing fanfiction story that I just finished....
ahhh I've been reading it for 3 days, and I'm crying happy tears right now...........aww it was great!

Definitely worth your time, it's vampire Edward and human Bella if he had left Forks after her first day of school, but they were brought back together by fate 3 years later..........
well written, fun to read and very little smut....actually not smutty at all, just more realistic than anything Stephenie Meyer could of come up with...LOL

Fanfiction Reviews while on bedrest!

Well it's safe to say that I've had a lot of time on my hands, and since typing in this position is not ideal, I've been reading lots of fan fiction; in this post I'll be reviewing a few of the "complete" fan fictions that I've read in the past week or so.

Tropic of Virgo is finally completed; this one was cute, a little smuttirific, but overall a lot of fun to read. Lots of poems and musical references, and overall well written, few grammar or spelling errors, (a hell of a lot better than most junk out there). All characters are human, just twilight names and some personality traits, but basically a brand new story. Highly recommended.

Resisting Edward is another great completed fanfic, and it has a sequel. Smutty, but fun, some parts make you want to pull your hair out, and it's not perfectly written, but such a good story overall.

Seducing Edward is the follow up to resisting.... and I really really liked it, this is not a standalone story, so you need to read the first, but it's great, and smutty and fun.

I've also been reading Such a Simple Fool but I'll wait till it's complete to review (I think she's almost done)

Fanfiction Review:; Whithering The Ferns

I guess one of the advantages of bedrest is that I get to sit around and read fanfiction!
Today I just finished Withering The Ferns this is a Completed Fanfic from the author of Wide Awake.
It's more of an action adventure story, not mushy on any level, and I must admit I did have some difficulty getting into it, cause the first chapter is a little dragging and a little out there, but then by the second chapter it really picks up. It's only 17 chapters, so a fairly quick read, and I think if you get past Chapter 1 you might really enjoy it.

Monday Fanfic Review

This will not be a regular occurance....or maybe it will, but I just read an amazing fanfic while trying ot recover from these darn chicken pox so I needed to share.

It's called Eight Years Later

This is the summary they provide on the page: It has been 8 long years since Edward left Bella on their wedding day. Bella has finally come back to Forks to visit Charlie, only to find that Edward has also returned, and he has been keeping a big secret from her.

It was a great read, very well written, little or no smut. I must admit the ending made me cry, (in a good way), and the fact that it's complete is a HUGE bonus!

Stay: A Fanfiction Review

I just finished a fanfiction story called Stay and I must admit I LOVED it!
This is not a smutty, lemony down and dirty story, it's actually really nice and well written.
Definitely not the kind of thing that you feel the urge to cover your screen when someone walks by.
It's a love story of course, that basically only shares names with our beloved Twilight.
It's all human, Edward is a famous actor, and Bella is a bookstore owner from NY (a bonus for me! LOL).
I love the way it develops and definitely love the fact that it's Complete!! so no waiting for updates!
Hope that if you chose to read it, you will enjoy it as much as I did!
