The train and subway ride down were uneventful except for the current fear of Swine Flu, which prevented us from touching doors, banisters and handles with our bare hands...cause we all know how many thousands of people touch those every day....YUCK!
We got to the stadium in plenty of time to get some food.....we opted to stay away from the Hard Rock Cafe and their 2 hour wait, and went to a restaurant/grill/bar around the corner and were seated right away.
The weather was iffy, so we weren't even sure they were going to get the game in.
I purchased the tickets back in January online, so I was not sure how good the seats were going to be, and we were very pleasantly surprised.
We got to our very pretty cushioned seats, sat down, and a waitress came to let us know that she would take our food and drink orders for us....Yup you heard right, we had "in seat service" LOVE IT!!!!!
The game was great, the Yankees scored 4 runs in the first inning, we were close enough to hear the ball....and Jeter was looking yummy as ever.
Unfortunately the rain started, the field got nasty and Andy Pettite started screwing up, so they lost their lead. By the 7th inning they were losing 6-4 and after the YMCA we decided to ditch.....
Just like every other time we've left early, we got to the train and the score was 8-6.......
On our ride back on Metro North, I was on my phone getting updates from a friend and the girl in the seats next to us had a radio, and we all celebrated their 10-9 victory.....It was great, sorry we missed it!
We hope to get to the Stadium again in the fall....we'll see though, those tickets were wayyy to expensive and now I must admit I'm spoiled.
