Kidless Disney Getaway Recap

Last Friday me and D ran away without the kids to Florida for the weekend. It was Christophers Godfathers birthday so it was a great reason to have our "Cruise Reunion" considering it's been almost 4 years since the 6 of us got together.
We started out the day with an uneventful flight, as soon as we got to the timeshare we hit the pool and then out for a night of fun.We managed to go out to dinner and do some serious drinking at the Cigar bar at City Walk and stayed just long enough to close the bars! It was like college days, pretty great, and no major drama, except for Tony getting a little cranky towards the end, some random guy hitting on me while we were playing "watch the bathroom door that has no lock" and Davide getting "man kissed" LOL.
Saturday we hit Disney Hollywood studios and had a great time. We did have a minor Goofy incident, I think we scared him away!! every time we tried to approach him for a picture he started waving and running, I guess New Yorkers are quite intimidating to guys in big dog costumes! LOL But no grudges, I still love the character not the idiot wearing the suit!
The Tower of Terror has gotten scarier since the last time I was there in 1995. We had some fun doing rides without the kids and the lines were actually really short. On the way out they turned on the dancing Christmas lights, it was really pretty and a nice surprise cause we didn't realize they were going to do that.
Sunday we went for a nice walk in the 70's weather and then headed for the airport.
This little break from reality was just what I needed. I must admit I got very emotional during the Little Mermaid show and the Beauty and the Beast one, because I know my boys will never be into that, but I was able to shake it off before anyone noticed.
So hopefully the next stop of my recovery journey will be Vegas in February. (depending on coverage).
