Pollution of the Italian Language!

Well after spending last Sunday with DH's cousins from Italy it got me thinking.
As most of my readers know: I'm an Italian teacher.
This past year I have been teaching 7th grade, so things have been a little different, I'm teaching my students this beautiful language from scratch...and of course being the typical 12 and 13 year olds they ask a lot of questions and point out things that most people take for granted.....
Well as I was speaking to DH's cousin and he was telling us about his "body building" and other English words that he incorporated in his beautiful command of the Italian language....I was a little upset......why oh why does the rest of the world need to incorporate "English" into their language....I was asking for new terms and vocabulary uses and all I got was more English words.....
and today in class as my students asked me what the Italian word for "denim pants" was and I had had to tell them "Jeans" my heart almost broke! I wish we had a better word! LOL
The other words that cracked them up this week were:
"l'hamburger, il futbol, l'hockey, il wurstel, il sofa', la pizza, il computer, and of course "i blue jeans"
ahhhh why do they only pick up on the words they already know?
